I want to share my new ShelfGenie cabinet inserts with you. It may not be a new recipe, but an organized kitchen makes cooking every day so much easier.
This post is sponsored by ShelfGenie. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I love the inserts so much we’re saving up to have the pantry redone next.

I was thrilled to be selected for the ShelfGenie promotion. My kitchen cabinets were always overflowing with duplicate items, which made finding and organizing things difficult.
Being a small-appliance collector takes a real toll on counter and cabinet space.

Yes, my kitchen island often looks like that because I stay set up for live video and Instant Pot classes.
What’s the ShelfGenie design process like?
The first step is scheduling a free consultation. You can arrange a consultation online and your request is routed to the local franchise. My designer and owner, Dan Powell, called to set up a visit that worked for our schedule, including an evening appointment so Cheryl could join.
During the consultation Dan used a design program to create a live mock-up of my kitchen. He demonstrated cabinet doors and drawers opening, which made it easy to visualize how the inserts would function. He completed a lot in a short time and was personable and easy to talk to.
After the consultation we scheduled a measurement appointment. Dan and the ShelfGenie team followed up to answer questions and confirm details.
Dan also sent a 3D design video showing how each insert would work. The video covered the possible options we discussed, helping me understand the full range of solutions.
Do I have to empty my cabinets for measurements?
I worried I might need to completely empty the cabinets for measurements and then reload everything until the inserts arrived. That wasn’t necessary. Our installer, Tobias, measured around the items already in place and worked carefully. The custom inserts from the factory fit perfectly.
What’s the ShelfGenie install process like?
After measurements are taken, the specifications go to the factory to build your custom inserts. Typical lead time is about a month. When the inserts arrive, the installer schedules an installation appointment. At that time you will need to remove everything from the cabinets — a good opportunity to declutter, donate unused items, and plan how to reorganize.

Tobias spread a blanket on the floor, set out his tools, and worked carefully. He did some drilling inside and outside the house; I asked him to call 15 minutes before arriving so I could settle my dogs. During the install there were a few choices to finalize and Tobias consulted me on the options, offering his recommendations when I asked.

The installation took most of an afternoon. Ask for a time estimate when you schedule so you can plan around it.

How long did cleanup take after the install?
Tobias was meticulous about cleanup. He protected the floor with a quilted blanket, cleaned up debris, and vacuumed the floor and cabinet interiors. The workspace was left tidy — a very professional experience.

How much do ShelfGenie cabinet inserts cost?
For the three cabinets I had fitted, plus adding rails to an existing drawer, the cost was about $3,500. Pricing can vary by region and franchise. My installation was completed by the ShelfGenie of Raleigh team. Converting a double closet with metal shelving into a two-column pull-out pantry was quoted at about $4,500.
What happens if something breaks or isn’t smooth?
ShelfGenie provides a lifetime warranty that covers parts and installation issues, so they will repair or correct problems that arise. Based on my experience, I recommend ShelfGenie for anyone looking to improve storage. They install solutions not only for kitchens but for closets, bathrooms, and other spaces.
Each ShelfGenie franchise is independently owned, so while the company is national, the local teams operate like family-run businesses. My local team made me feel well cared for throughout the process.
